Alan Flower

Managing Director

Alan is a Managing Director within our advisory team focussing on turnaround situations. He has over 20 years’ experience of assisting management and stakeholders focussing on cash management, fund raising, sale of business and financial restructuring.

Alan has applied his experience across numerous sectors including Energy, Retail, Shipbuilding, Aviation, Mining, Oil and Gas, Food and Drink, Leisure and Professional Services.

Normally his clients face broad based financial challenges which require rapid analysis and both strategic and operational options for change to be developed. Alan leads a small team which assesses the current position, identifies options, builds robust business cases and supports implementation.

Whilst Alan has been involved in a number of high profile listed businesses both within the UK and internationally, the majority of his clients are privately owned and based in Scotland. He works closely with business owners, management teams and stakeholders to help deliver solutions that meet their objectives.

Recent notable assignments have included: supporting the development of a 10 year business plan for a listed PLC; assessing and implementing restructuring options for 2 energy retailers; supporting the development of a 3 year business plan for a foreign professional services business, securing funding to deliver that plan along with the related stakeholder management.

Alan has also spent some time on secondment at some of our key clients, including acting as interim divisional finance director of a listed PLC in the transport sector for a year and 4 months working in a bank’s “high risk” team.
