Job description

Role Synopsis

Joining Interpath Advisory means joining a dynamic and talented team of exceptional colleagues who bring innovative thoughts and a natural curiosity to the work they do each day. With no two days the same, we are looking for people who are willing to embrace a challenge and support businesses through transactions and beyond. No one type of person succeeds at Interpath Advisory; a diverse business requires a range of personalities and perspectives, strong teamwork and a passion for client success. There really is a place for you here.

We are looking for an experienced Transaction Services practitioner to join a highly commercial team that will focus on all aspects of Transaction Services work, both buy side due diligence and sell side, including vendor assistance as well as vendor due diligence.

With Transaction Services being a new team to Interpath a key aspect of the role will be to help establish the Interpath brand in the Transaction Services market and driving the growth of the business alongside the other Deal Advisory service lines including M&A Advisory, Debt Advisory and Tax.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Building own relationships with clients and internal Interpath work providers
  • Support in setting a high quality and consistent work product in a new team
  • Ability to manage a team on an engagement basis, as well as broader coaching and development for the more junior staff
  • Guiding and reviewing junior staff and producing high quality financial analysis

Essential Education:

An accountancy qualification such as ACA is required, and it is likely the applicant will be from an established Transaction Services team.

Essential Experience and Job Requirements

  • Managing a project team
  • In depth financial analysis and writing of due diligence reports
  • Experience of interpreting analysis and follow up interviewing of management
  • Critically appraising business plan achievability in light of research and analysis
  • Fundamental understanding of the drivers of value in an M&A transaction
  • Confidence in presenting own thoughts and an ability to robustly defend a position

Desirable Criteria:

This is a new team and operates in a more entrepreneurial environment than, say, a Big 4 practice. This means more flexibility in the way you might need to work and put more demands on you in helping build the team including business development. Whilst intellect and analytical capacity is taken for granted, the candidate needs to be a self starter, can challenge the status quo and has a positive can do attitude.  The quid pro quo is you will benefit from considerably more exposure to MDs and the wider leadership team and accelerate your learning and career development.

Our Values

  • Embrace different: - From cultures to mindsets, we welcome them all. We’re inclusive by nature and we believe that people are equal, but not the same.
  • Do the right thing: - Our comfort zone is uncomfortable; we always make the right decision not what is simply easy or popular. Always consider how to implement these decisions, people will always remember how you made them feel.
  • All hands on deck:- We stand shoulder to shoulder with colleagues and clients, be that physically or from afar. Our individual expertise may find them answers, but it is through teamwork that it is implemented.
  • Passion drives success: - The impossible is always possible, we push the boundaries of what is expected because we’re never satisfied with the status quo. Our clients expect a positive result when they engage with us, and it’s only by delivering this that we win.
