Experience & background
After qualifying as a chartered accountant within KPMG's Corporate Recovery team, Andrew moved into Corporate Finance undertaking mid-market transactions. Shortly thereafter Andrew was headhunted by a well-known Investment Bank where he undertook M&A transactions in a variety of sectors including support services, waste management, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and FMCG. He then transferred into the leveraged debt team and was heavily involved in the provision and management of both bilateral and syndicated debt facilities to public and private companies.
Andrew re-joined KPMG in 2004 where he focussed on public and private sector company side restructuring advisory services. In the period until 2016 he also grew the public sector restructuring (“PSR”) practice significantly whilst maintaining a continued presence in the private sector. In 2016 he handed over the reins of the PSR practice to focus his attention on the private sector and to co-ordinate company side restructuring in the UK outside of London.
Andrew specialises in complex restructuring situations which typically include either a transaction or a turnaround. More widely he also advises clients on the specific aspects of turnarounds/restructuring for example, supply chain risk management, sales and margin improvement, commercial strategic advice, turnaround, operational restructuring, cash management, and cost reduction.
Andrew holds a wide variety of sector experience but focusses primarily on automotive, education, food manufacturing, health care, plant hire, public sector, property, airlines, waste, FMCG, industrial manufacturing, facilities management and pharmaceuticals.
In 2020 Andrew was appointed as KPMG UK’s Head of Automotive and continues to be Head of Automotive for Interpath.
